What Are Google My Business Posts?
We recently posted a blog on our #1 thing your business should do now. In this article we'll look at what a Google My Business Post (GMB) is and why you should be taking advantage of this great marketing and SEO tool.
GMB posts are like small ads that appear in your Google search results knowledge panel and on Google Maps. There are four categories of post.
- Product – These posts require a title, photo, or video. You should also add product information and can include a button encouraging searchers to buy, learn more, or call now.
- Offers – In addition to the information in a product post you must also use a start and end date. Google adds the "View Offer" button automatically. You can add a link, coupon codes, or terms and conditions.
- What's New – These provide general information about your business. You can add links, call-to-action buttons, images, and videos.
- Events – Similar to the Offer posts, you must have a title and a start and end time. You can add a sign up link to direct users to sign up from the post.

It doesn't matter is you sell a product, offer a service, are a realtor or medical office, if you have a business you need an optimized GMB page and you need to be taking advantage of posts.
