Josh Cates, Founder & CEO
Joshua Cates, Founder and CEO of Ten Peaks Media, has more than 20 years experience in media and advertising. Successful start-ups include co-founding the largest non-medical home care agency in North Texas, building and franchising the Living Well Magazine brand across 30 U.S. markets, and collaborating with local Olympians to launch a consumer electronics Bluetooth company, partnering with the USA Pro Challenge and other major races across the nation. Josh has a DoD Top Secret Clearance, effective 17 April 2020, received a nomination for the Colorado Springs Advertising ICON award in 2018, is the recipient of an ADDY award for his work on the Kathleen O'Shea branding project in 2018 and another ADDY award for his work with Country Music Icon Aaron Tippin in 2019. Additionally, Josh was honored to be nominated for Businessman of the Year by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce.
Combining two unique character traits, Josh will tell you that his entrepreneurial spirit, combined with an artistic and creative eye, make him a great asset to the brands he consults for. Combining his passion for helping businesses reach their goals with his proven track record for successful startup, expansion and exit strategy, Josh has extensive experience consulting and building digital and creative campaigns for a variety of companies, including but not limited to, healthcare, real estate, electronics, construction, department of defense contractors, manufacturers, home builders, consumer retail, sporting goods, jewelry, golf courses, restaurant, and consumer services.
Josh and his wife have two daughters and split their time between their home state of Texas and adopted home of Colorado. Josh is an avid thrill seeker who enjoys traveling, cycling, and skiing.
Bob Cates, Co-Founder & Director of Digital Strategy
Bob has always been an entrepreneur. He will tell you he has lived the American dream, starting and running his own businesses, which have included oil and natural gas exploration, healthcare, publishing, consumer electronics, e-commerce, franchise operations and advertising agency. Graduating from the University of North Texas with an accounting degree, Bob received his CPA while an Audit Supervisor for the State of Texas. In 1983 Bob started his first business, an independent oil and gas exploration company, which he operated until 2007.
As the Co-Founder of Ten Peaks Media, Bob is an invaluable part of the brand and his talents expand beyond his dynamic abilities with projections and figures. Bob sits on the board and counsels on all matters relating to the brand's financial well-being, in addition to consulting and handling the business management side for clients of Ten Peaks Media. In 2018 Bob added the title Director of Digital Strategy to his name, where his background in auditing and time as a CPA migrate perfectly to crunching data and making clear sense of the ever-changing world of digital strategy for Ten Peaks Media clients.
Splitting time between Colorado and the Texas Hill Country, Bob is married to his high-school sweetheart of 47 years and loves volunteering in his hometown, where he serves on Boerne's Planning and Zoning Commission. He also loves exploring the outdoors, bow hunting, cycling, and hiking.
Lauren Stewart, Creative Director
Lauren grew up in the Lone Star State, where she also received her BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. While taking courses at the university, Lauren worked as an intern in the Marketing and Design Department at MooreCo, Inc., helping with marketing research and mobile website design. Next, she interned at Woodward Creative Group where she worked on print ads, logos, signs, and illustrations.
Shortly after finishing college, Lauren married a dashing infantryman, and the Army swept her away from Texas for a life of adventure. They first moved to Missouri, where Lauren teamed up with Rolla Creative to create logos, book covers, and anything else thrown her way. Next, they went to beautiful Colorado Springs where Lauren worked for Every Home for Christ, helping to coordinate print and web materials across all departments and working to strengthen the brand as a whole.
Now back in Texas, where the Stewarts will tell you they plan to stay, Lauren loves the opportunity to meet real business challenges with thoughtful, strategic, creative solutions as the Creative Director for TenPeaks Media. In her free time, Lauren likes to play tennis, learn the piano, read historical fiction, explore new places, and two-step with her hubby.
Madison Jusko, Social Media & Content Director
Madison fell in love with storytelling at a young age. As a child, she was rarely seen without her nose in a book. Passion for the written word led her to Baylor University, where she was a member of the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core in the Honors Division. One year later, she transferred to the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she obtained her BA in English. During her time in college, she worked as a content writer for a vacation rental agency and dipped her toes into the world of marketing and social media management.
Marketing through social media improves search engine rankings, inbound traffic, and customer loyalty. Madison has managed social media for several businesses of all shapes and sizes, some of whom had previous accounts and some who had never logged on to any platform. She loves the challenge of creating an online presence from scratch just as much as she loves “renovating” accounts in need. Madison uses creative storytelling to enhance a brand’s online presence, and thrives on connecting potential customers with inspiring businesses. Organization is key to creative success, and she’s seen success in every social media account she’s taken over. Whether your business has been open for 10 years or 10 days, she can increase your profit, clientele, and prominence through affordable, online marketing.
When she’s not posting on social media, Madison loves teaching cycling classes, mentoring teenagers, and going on road trips to Colorado with her husband, Tim. Nothing inspires creativity quite like the Rocky Mountains!
Tyler Noe, Director of Paid Media
Tyler has always had a passion for helping people's ideas take flight. With a sturdy foothold in the digital space he's been able to help businesses of all shapes and sizes achieve their goals and see the growth they desire. With over 9 years of experience in digital marketing he prides himself on his ability to find the best solution to tackle any situation.
After starting his own business venture right out of college, he was able to know first-hand what it takes to find success. Combining his digital marketing certifications, which include Display Advertising, Video Advertising, Shopping Advertising, Data Measurement and others, Tyler’s digital business expertise helps navigate the evolving paid media digital landscape to always be sure his clients are staying competitive, up-to-date, and ahead of the curve.
Residing at the base of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs with his wife and newborn son, Tyler enjoys hiking, grilling, mountain biking, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
Ricardo Mendoza, Video Production
Ricardo Mendoza is a veteran storyteller specializing in video production. His work and style define the human essence of communication with both thoughtful cinematography and consideration for the on-talent camera and the audience they are speaking to. His organization, StoryMakers Production Co. is the official video production partner of Ten Peaks Media and have collaborated with great success in numerous projects.
Bret Williams, Business Development
Bret has over 17 years of experience in the advertising, marketing, and communications industries. His professional focus has centered on web development and digital marketing strategies that drive revenue for the client. Having owned a digital marketing firm for most of his career, he is well-versed in what it takes to provide results for clients and create relationships that last.
In 2003, Bret graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas with a B.B.A. in Management of Information Systems. His education, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, propelled him into the world of digital marketing. In 2014, Bret and his family moved to Boerne to serve a growing client base in the San Antonio area. In 2016, Bret sold his stake in his digital marketing firm to pursue a call to full-time ministry at Currey Creek Church in Boerne. After five successful and rewarding years in ministry, Bret desired to return to the business world to make a positive impact in the community in which he lives. Bret’s experience and skill set allow him to find creative ways to grow business at Ten Peaks Media by growing business for our clients.
Bret enjoys walking through life with his beautiful wife Lisa. Together with their daughters Molly and Hattie, they love spending time down on the Texas coast fishing as a family.
Nancy Kay White, Editor-in-chief
Nancy has been with Ten Peaks Media since its inception. She is a self-proclaimed “wordsmith” who enjoys researching word definitions and has great respect for the power of the written word. Early in her career, she was the administrative assistant in the English Department at the University of North Texas where she worked with the Chairman of Basic Courses and the Chairman of the Graduate School. Working with graduate students, she provided dissertation and thesis proofreading and editing services. She has worked with many of the clients at Ten Peaks, writing articles that convey their business philosophy and services.
Born in North Texas, Nancy is a Texas native through and through. She has great appreciation and love for the state of Texas, its culture, and its friendly people. She is married to her high school sweetheart. Faith and family are her top priorities. In her spare time, she loves to read, be with friends, and bike. Colorado, her “second home state,” is where you will find her when she has the opportunity to travel. She will say, “A view of the Rocky Mountains is one place I find my serenity.”
Emily Cheshier, Client Success Manager
Emily is the smiling face that greets our clients with her warm, southern hospitality. Her job is to be your eyes and ears, through this wonderful, chaotic world of ever-evolving digital marketing. She monitors the details that keep our communication flow crisp and expectations met! Currently, Emily is finishing up her bachelors degree in accounting at Texas A&M University in San Antonio. Her attention to detail is what makes her excellent at her job. She was born and raised right here in Boerne, Texas where Ten Peaks Media is based. Emily and her husband have three young children, who keep them on their toes constantly! When not at work or school, she enjoys spending time with her family, and traveling.
